trying to find a frame that keeps a practice together, batiscafo operates as an umbrella where aina roca develops her practice.
aina works at the intersection between architecture and scenography, performative installation and research. She uses experimental processes to develop tools to expand the understanding of space.
since 2023 she is a PhD candidate at BAU, Centro Universitario de Artes y Diseño de Barcelona.
she is co-founder and architect at ellipsis, a multidisciplinary collective researching on the creation of narratives using objects, sound and movement.
she curates an archive of framed images in this instagram account: topographic.space.
she combines her professional practice with her love for teaching. From 2022 to 2025 she teached at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (HKU) at the Spatial Design Department and as a guest lecturer at the MA Scenography. She is a member of the research group Expanded Scenography, at the HKU Lectorat Expanding Artistic Practices. Currently she is a guest lecturer at UB-Universitat de Barcelona at the Design Department and an Assosiate professor at BAU-Centre Universitari d’Art i Disseny de Barcelona.
